Giffords - Gun Safety Forum
Ahead of the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, Giffords transformed from a national advocacy organization into the host of one of the election cycle’s most visible conversations: a nationally televised presidential forum on gun violence featuring every major Democratic candidate, including Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. For a nonprofit organization, the event presented a rare opportunity to amplify its mission on a national stage while establishing a visual presence alongside one of the country’s most significant political moments.
As Design Director, I led the creative direction and developed a comprehensive visual system across broadcast, environmental, digital, and print touchpoints. The challenge extended beyond designing individual assets—it required building a cohesive identity that could adapt to the technical demands of live television, the scale of a national event, and the needs of multiple production partners while remaining unmistakably Giffords. Through art direction, visual systems thinking, and close cross-functional collaboration, I helped translate the organization’s mission into a polished, broadcast-ready experience that elevated its brand and reinforced its voice on a national platform.
